HANDMADE FROM START TO FINISH
Hammered. Soldered. Polished with care.
Each piece of handmade jewellery begins with an idea or a quick sketch. The best part is when I head to the workbench to play around with bits of silver and brass. Once a piece starts to take shape I refine it and decide if it works with the rest of the collection. This is also the most difficult part. Sometimes a piece can be almost there, but I need a week or two to let it sit and make the final changes. I love the challenge of working with metal, how tough it can be sometimes, and how malleable it can be at others.

ABOUT GWEN
I first dipped my toes into jewellery making when I was in high school. I was lucky enough to have a metalwork teacher that offered a class in fabricating silver jewellery. The class was my favourite part of school, but didn’t think there was an opportunity to continue in handmade jewellery making as a career. Later on, I realised that anything is possible and there is room for many types of creative jobs in this world.
In 2018 my Irish husband and I decided to move to Europe. Having had a couple of handmade businesses in Canada, I was eager to start something new. I immediately thought of jewelry making. I love working with metal; from shaping the raw material, to setting stones and giving the metal it’s final polish. The entire process is captivating.
