Hammered. Soldered. Polished with care.

Every piece of jewellery starts with an idea, a sketch or sometimes just a shape I can’t stop thinking about. I prefer to work out my designs in metal, so I play around with bits of silver and brass and see what happens.

This is probably my favourite part of the process, and also the most frustrating. A piece might look almost right, but there’s usually something that isn’t quite working. Sometimes I need to put it aside for a week or even a month before I know what needs changing.

I love that challenge. Metal can be incredibly stubborn one minute and surprisingly malleable the next, and there’s something really satisfying about slowly coaxing an idea into something you can actually wear. Once the shape feels right, I refine it and see how it sits alongside the rest of the collection.

I first dipped my toes into jewellery making when I was in high school. I was lucky enough to have a metalwork teacher that offered a class in fabricating silver jewellery. The class was my favourite part of school, but didn’t think there was an opportunity to continue creating jewellery as a career.

Later on, I realised there was. In 2018 my partner and I decided to move to Europe. Having had a couple of handmade businesses in Canada, I was eager to start something new. I immediately thought of jewellery making. 

I love the whole process of working with metal. From taking a raw piece of silver and slowly shaping it, to setting stones, adding texture and giving it that final polish. There’s something so satisfying about seeing an idea develop from a sketch or a lump of metal into something that can actually be worn. After all these years, I still find the process captivating.
